The Stob earth pyramids lie near the village of Stob in the southwestern part of Rila. Formed by erosion, they feature varied conical and pyramidal shapes, some topped by distinctive stone caps.
Eco trail and views
An eco trail leads to the natural site. From the higher sections there are views across the Rila valley and towards the approaches to Rila Monastery. This is best treated as a separate short trip rather than part of the city itself.
Combine it in the region
The Stob Pyramids are a natural link between a stay in Blagoevgrad and wider exploration of Rila. On a full-day trip they can be combined with a route towards Rila Monastery, depending on time and transport.
